Merek is the son of the legendary Dragon Slayer, Konrad the Legender. Like his father and the rest of his family, Merek became a Dragon Slayer, and was turned near immortal by his father alongside his siblings. Like his brother and sister, Merek received one of his father's talismans, the Vampire's Stake, which like his siblings, possibly plays a part in his immortality and ability to revive from death.

He has 3 siblings: one brother and two sisters.

He trained Banderbrux the Bold in dragon slaying.

He was the winner of Humbuggle's game at the Necropolis of Antilla and discovered the True Game at Titan Valley with the help of an illusionist.

He was given wings of an astrid by the Fairy King and was key to the retrieval of the Unforgiving Blade.
