Graulas is a Demon that has lived on Fablehaven preserve for centuries. He was well known in ancient India and China before reaching Fablehaven to prepare to die. He was once one of the six most feared Demons in the world, but has hibernated for decades. Graulas was, in his younger years, one of the most powerful Demons in the world. Time has not treated him well in his many years, and he had become an empty shell of his former self. Later on he is slain by Seth, with the help of the legendary sword Vasilis.

Grip of the Shadow Plague

Graulas is interested in meeting Seth, who he says showed unexpected courage in defeating the Revenant. That surprised Graulas. To thank him for the surprise, Graulas tells Seth about the Revenant's nail and how Navarog, the prince of Demons that the Sphinx released from the Quiet Box, took the nail to Kurisock, who in turn created the Shadow Plague.

Secrets of the Dragon Sanctuary

Graulas summons Seth to his lair. He assigned Nero, the Troll, to help Seth break into Grunhold and steal the horn. He also helped Seth realize he was a Shadow Charmer, and was the Demon who helped complete Seth's Shadow Charming abilities.

Keys to the Demon Prison

In Keys to the Demon Prison he asks Seth if he could heal him with the Sands of Sanctity. When Seth does Graulas escapes and destroys the foundational treaty of Fablehaven. He then travels to Living Mirage where he becomes the leader of the Society of the Evening Star. He is later killed by Seth, wielding Vasilis when he opens Zzyzx.

Appearance

Graulas has a face of a ram, and radiates magical fear. He is described to look hideous and riddled with disease. He has wrinkly eyelids, an infected face, and a bulky body. The demon looks much stronger after being healed by the Sands of Sanctity.

Personality

Graulas, at first, seems helpful and wise. He assists the Sorensons by informing them of the plague, and later helping them retrieve the centaur's horn. But later he is revealed to be cruel and unforgiving, toying with them all along. He is a master manipulator and isn't merciful to the person who healed him. Graulas was a well-respected demon before he grew sick and frail, being one of the most important servants of the Demon King.
