Chalize is a young female dragon, not more than a hundred years old, and more metallic than usual, having gleaming copper scales that encases her elephant-sized body in metallic armor. A tall fin runs from the top of her fierce head to the base of her neck, a pair of shiny wings grace her sides and her long tail extends like a whip. She guarded the Chronometer at Lost Mesa, but was later freed by Navarog and overthrew the preserve.

History

Chalize was an offspring of the dragon Nafia at the dragon sanctuary of Wyrmroost. Nafia had fallen into a pattern of eating her young and Agad wanted her last offspring to survive, so, Patton Burgess, who was there on other business, stole Chalize's egg from Nafia and away from Wyrmroost. Patton hatched Chalize at the secret preserve of Lost Mesa, where he stayed with her until a group of goblins began taking care of her. Chalize would become the final obstacle in the preserve's vault, replacing the dragon Ranticus, who had been killed earlier by Patton using dragonsbane.

Grip of the Shadow Plague

Gavin, accompanied by Kendra, Warren, Dougan, and Neil, talked their way past Chalize during their attempt to find the Chronometer under the condition that no one looked at her. Kendra accidentally looked at her though and was subsequently frozen by fear, but Gavin managed to talk their way out it.

She later got freed and destroyed the Lost Mesa preserve along with the resurrected Dragon skeleton of Ranticus and some other undead creatures, such as zombies, resulting in everyone at the preserve dying except Hal and Mara. It was later revealed that it was Gavin, as Navarog, who freed her, and also that Navarog secured passage with Chalize by threatening to kill her if she didn't agree.
